How often can I use Sterimar?
We recommend using Sterimar Isotonic and Sterimar Baby 2 to 6 times a day, in each nostril, for however long you feel it is necessary or for however long your doctor recommends.
Sterimar Hypertonic is recommended for short periods of time only. Use it 2 to 4 times a day in each nostril for light congestion or up to 6 times a day for heavy congestion.
Can I use Sterimar together with other medicine?
Yes. Sterimar does not contain any additives or preservatives, so there are no known risks of interaction with other medicine. Whatever your situation, it’s always a good idea to double check with your doctor.
Is it possible for Sterimar to cause irritation?
Sterimar Isotonic and Sterimar Baby are purified sea water solutions with the same concentration of salts as the cells in the human body. As such, irritation is highly unlikely. Sterimar Hypertonic has a higher salt content than Sterimar Isotonic but the solution is still less salty than sea water. A sensation of dryness may occur and should disappear within a few days.
Always follow instructions and/or doctor’s recommendations.
Can I use Sterimar if I'm pregnant, I suffer from diabetes or I have high blood pressure?
Yes, Sterimar is completely safe to use with these conditions, but it is always a good idea to check with your doctor.
Can I use Sterimar on children under the age of 3 y/o?
Yes, Sterimar Isotonic is right for the whole family, even for babies from 3 months onwards. Sterimar Hypertonic is right for all adults and for children starting age 3 and Sterimar Baby is part of a new Sterimar line and can be used on children from birth to 3 months.
Is the nozzle safe?
Yes, the Sterimar nozzle has been specially designed to fit all nostril sizes and shapes. Sterimar Baby has a different nozzle with an extra protective edge. The nozzle cannot be inserted too far into the nostril, thus reducing the risk of injury.
When do Sterimar products expire?
All Sterimar products have a maximum expiry date of 3 years. You can use them any time until the date printed on the carton, regardless of when you opened the package, to the last drop.:)
Why is it important to clean the nozzle after each use?
You must clean the nozzle in soapy water to remove any microorganisms left after use to help avoid any cross-contamination.
What does microdiffusion mean?
The unique Sterimar micro-diffusion system produces a fine spray of sea water. As the droplets produced by Sterimar are microfine, they remain in contact with the walls of the nasal passages for longer, making Sterimar even more effective.
Why are Copper and Manganese important?
Copper and manganese are found in very small amounts in the human body. They stimulate the body’s self defense mechanisms and help keep it healthy.
Where can I buy Sterimar products?
All Sterimar items are over-the-counter products and are available in all pharmacies throughout Romania.
